Associate of Arts-Foundations of Business


The Associate of Arts-Foundations of Business specialization focuses on the topics of business, global business, accounting, economics, finance, and marketing. In this program students will explore fundamental business principles and learn to apply problem solving strategies to real life scenarios. Students will also discuss the effects of culture and ethics in current global and domestic business environments. Some program activities include SWOT analysis, examination of the supply and demand curve, a review of the relationship between marketing and sales, and implementation of basic financial planning techniques.

Associate of Arts-Hospitality, Travel, and Tourism


The Hospitality, Travel, and Tourism specialization provides content and practical application in an array of foodservice, lodging management, and tourism industry careers. The courses emphasize the leadership competencies and knowledge that provide the foundation of management practices valued in the hospitality arena. The Hospitality, Travel, and Tourism associate degree program is also planned to prepare the student for further study in hospitality or related programs at the undergraduate level.

Bachelor of Science in Accounting

The BSB entry sequence exposes students to valuable theoretical knowledge and best practices in the areas of management, organizational behavior, research and evaluation, and critical thinking and problem solving. In all BSB program coursework, the curriculum addresses critical business issues in the areas of diversity, globalization, ethics, technology, and e-business.

There are several different areas of concentration available for the Bachelor of Science in Business program:

Accounting

e-Business
The Bachelor of Science in e-Business (BSB/EB) Program blends business and information technology to address the emerging field of e-Commerce and e-Business. The program courses provide fundamental knowledge and application in both business and information technology.

Finance
The Bachelor of Science in Business/Finance (BSB/F) program is designed for the working professional employed by a business or public organization. Green and Sustainable Enterprise Management
The Bachelor of Science in Business (BSB) undergraduate degree program is designed to prepare graduates with the requisite knowledge, skills, and values to effectively apply various business principles and tools in an organizational setting. The BSB foundation is designed to bridge the gap between theory and practical application, while examining the areas of accounting, critical thinking and decision-making, finance, business law, management, marketing, organizational behavior, research and evaluation, and technology. Students are required to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the undergraduate business curricula through an integrated topics course. The Green and Sustainable Enterprise Management concentration will prepare students for management careers based on sustainable business practices.

Hospitality Management
The hospitality management major will prepare students for careers in the hospitality industry. The program emphasizes the development of skills in lodging management; food and beverage operations management; events and recreation planning; and facilities management. Upon completion of this program students will possess the knowledge and skills needed to become leaders in the hospitality industry.

Human Resource Management
The Human Resource Management Concentration helps students develop an understanding of the fundamentals of human resource management and its strategic relevance in business. The concentration addresses the legal and ethical components of the decision making process involved in the human resources environment. Information Systems

Integrated Supply Chain & Operations Management
The Integrated Supply Chain and Operations Management (ISCOM) major concentrates on strategic performance improvement of all business planning, global sourcing and procurement, production, and logistical activities that make up an organization's supply chain. The Bachelor of Science in Business/Management is designed for the working adult who wants to acquire or build knowledge and skills essential for management in private and public organizations. Marketing

Public Administration

Retail Management
The Bachelor of Science in Business/Retail Management (BSB/RM) program is designed to prepare graduates with the requisite knowledge, skills, and values to effectively apply various business principles and tools in an organizational setting. In addition to the Bachelor of Science in Business entry coursework, the retail management major includes coursework in computers and information processing, management, financial analysis, accounting, business law, marketing, buyer behavior, and international marketing. The retail management major focuses the student on the retail management environment. The program emphasizes skill development in strategic management, marketing, supply management, product and brand management, retail operations, merchandising, and personnel management unique to the retail industry. Upon completion of this program students will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to be leaders in the retail industry.

Small Business Management & Entrepreneurship
The Small Business Management/Entrepreneurship concentration provides students with a course framework built around small business planning, financial management, and integrated business topics on entrepreneurship and small business management. Within the concentration, students can elect to study advanced concepts in small business marketing, leadership, family business management, operations management, and business law for entrepreneurs. They may also elect to explore in more depth either small business management or entrepreneurship studies as a function of their concentration electives. Students graduating with the Small Business/Entrepreneurship concentration will be prepared to address the challenges and opportunities specific to small business management and entrepreneurship.

Bachelor of Science in Communication


The Bachelor of Science in Communication (BS/COM) degree program is designed to develop knowledge and skills for effective communication. The program was created specifically to build upon personal and professional communication experiences. The BS/COM degree enhances the communication skills necessary for the development of professional competence and values; critical thinking and problem solving; information utilization; and collaboration.

A specialization in Culture and Communication is also available within the Bachelor of Science in Communication.

Communication and Technology
The concentration in Communication and Technology focuses on the enhancement of communication through technology, and offers the student an opportunity to explore creative communication solutions through Web sites, electronic publishing, image editing and multimedia development.

Marketing and Sales Communication
The concentration of Marketing and Sales Communications focuses on the science of humanistic interaction in marketing and sales. Emphasis is placed on understanding the psychology of behavior, and the impact that it has on marketing communication tools and strategies. The ethical responsibility associated with customer message management is also emphasized throughout the program.

Bachelor of Science in Human Services - Management


The Bachelor of Science in Human Services/Management (BSHS/M) program prepares graduates by giving them knowledge and basic skills to work in the human services industry. The BSHS/M is an integrated program combining academic instruction in the foundations of human services, such as counseling, social work, and psychology, with the management skills of planning, organizing leading, assessing, and evaluating. This program prepares students for careers in management in the growing field of human services. And, is designed to be an applied degree that includes teaching students strategies and techniques of intervention and good management practices. Graduates will be prepared to make interventions at individual, family, group, organizational, and community levels, and to use sound management practices in a variety of human services settings.

Bachelor of Science in Management


The Bachelor of Science in Management (BSM) program is designed to develop professional knowledge and skills of general managers in their organization or professional industry for improving organizational effectiveness.

Bachelor of Science in Organizational Security and Management


The Bachelor of Science in Organizational Security and Management degree is designed to address an increasing national and international need for greater technical competence and professionalism in the security industry. The distinctions between the roles of criminal justice agencies and private security organizations are recognized and the degree program provides the required knowledge for a student to develop competency and management skills in organizational security. While the program includes courses in Terrorism and Homeland Security, it also recognizes the depth and breadth of the discipline and provides a variety of courses designed to expose students to the entire spectrum of the security profession.

Master of Business Administration

The program combines essentials from both degree programs to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance and support patient services. The MSN/MBA/HCM program emphasizes the identification, analysis, and solution of complex management problems that require technical understanding and balanced decision making. Although a functional knowledge of accounting, finance, and management underlies the program, equal attention is given to the development of report writing, oral reporting, and group process skills.

Master of Management


The Master of Management program (MM) is designed to enhance the management skills needed to function effectively within an organization. Students focus on leadership and management—the human side of an organization. This program emphasizes emerging management theory, techniques, and practices, and incorporates feedback and key competencies from senior business executives, curriculum-design experts, and university academic professionals.
